❓ 2. What should be the linear speed of the circular saw?

The recommended linear speed for circular saws when cutting wood depends on the type of wood (dry or fresh) and the specification of the blade itself. Generally accepted values are as follows:

1. Cutting dry wood: Linear speed: from 50 m/s to 100 m/s Higher speeds (closer to 100 m/s) are preferred for larger diameter saws and more precise cuts. This facilitates obtaining a smooth cutting surface and increases work efficiency.
2. Cutting fresh (wet) wood: Linear speed: from 40 m/s to 70 m/s Speeds are slightly lower because fresh wood is softer and stickier. Working at a lower speed reduces the risk of binding, heating, and blade fouling due to resin and moisture.

These speeds may vary depending on the type of machine, blade material, number of teeth, and tooth shape. It's also essential to follow the saw blade and machine manufacturer's recommendations to ensure safe and effective cutting.
